Safety

Sinewave Electrical Contractors has achieved an outstanding safety record, through its longstanding commitment to ensuring the safety and health of the workplace for all employees and subcontractors.

Sinewave has developed and implemented a formal Occupational Health and Safety Policy that stipulates responsibilities for safety training and hazard identification throughout the company.

In day-to-day terms, the company devotes a great deal of energy to continuous improvement of its safety performance.  This includes screening employees to ensure appropriate training and induction, conducting regular safety training on new technical regulations, and the establishment of a formal Job Hazard Analysis process.

In addition, Sinewave employees are trained fully in the safety policies of the organisations on whose sites they are working (such as Hamersley Iron's HISafe initiative).

Sinewave Electrical has worked in excess of 350,000 man hours since the new business was established in 2000. Most of these hours have been worked in brown field environments, in which hazards such as live plant, working with heights, confined spaces and others are prevalent. Although the company's safety performance in this time has been exemplary, all personnel are consistently encouraged to identify and report opportunities for further improvement in this area.
